Police have arrested social media activist and fisherman Ali Sajid.
Police said Sajid was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly "hitting a woman in the head with a rock." They did not discolse further details.
A source from Gaaf Alif Villingili told Adhadhu that Sajid allegedly hit the woman he accused of bullying a child. Some people tried to assault Sajid over the issue.
"So they took Sajid away saying that it is for his protection," the source said.
Sajid, who is a social media activist, has been critical of the current government. He has been vocal in raising matters related to fishermen.
