Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the MVR 255 million contract to lay asphalt on the roads of Fuvahmulah city.
The project will be overseen by the Planning Ministry. Some roads have already been completed in an earlier phase of the project.
MTCC was given 730 days to complete the asphalt laying on the internal roads of the city. Some 12km will be developed in the project's second phase.
MTCC Managing Director Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company at a ceremony held at the ministry Tuesday.
The Planning Ministry was represented by its Director General, Fathimath Shana Farooq.
