Adhadhu Online, in collaboration with Maldivian Artist Community (MAC), is hosting an art competition to celebrate the 56th Independence Day of Maldives.

Our objective is to promote community based art, while rejoicing in the delight of the country's independence day celebrations. This competition will provide an opportunity for artists to showcase their unique skills representing the heritage, diverse cultural aspects, and traditions of Maldives in its journey to independence.

It is our vision to see our youth embracing the culture and heritage of the Maldives, therein increasing their affection towards our nation.

Ahmed Azmee (Baachy)

Program Coordinator, MAC

Ahmed Azmee better known by his alias Baachy is a talented and rising artist from the Maldives who has actively been involved in the art scene for well over 5 years. Baachy specialises in contemporary art and incorporates a special artistic technique which yields mesmerising design work that will leave Connoisseurs in an ecstatic frenzy of visual delight.

Hussain Ihfal

General Secretary, MAC

Hussain Ihfal Ahmed or “Iphpha” is a leading Maldivian artist, largely recognised for his illustrious contribution to the field of art for over twenty years. His innovative and unique style of ‘coffee painting’ is well-received and praised by both the Maldivian artist community and the general public. He is reputed for his latest and well acclaimed impressionism style of art. In 2018, Iphpha became the first Asian artist to host an exhibition underwater.

Maimoona

Vice Chairperson, MAC

Visual artist, currently working as an art and design teacher at Ghiyasuddin International School. She completed Master in Fine Art in 2012 from Pakistan. Maimoona is also a co-founder member working as the Vice Chairperson of Maldivian Artist Community-MAC.
