The artwork represents the untold stories of the queens of our nation who are shouldering critical responsibilities and hardships to uphold the nation. The delicate and advertently embroidered kasabu neckline indicates the selfless handwork and the tremendous power of women in our nation. While this dotted portrait is inspired Shafiyya, a Maldivian icon who is a great example of overcoming adversity in life, it is also a tribute to all the women of past and present who contribute to our nations' development, stability and independence.
