On July 26, 1965, we were emancipated from British colonial rule, marking 56 tears since we gained independence. The agreement giving Maldives the full potential independence was signed on behalf of his Majesty the sultan by Ibrahim Nasir Rannabandeyri Kileygefan. 56 yeas of independence sustains that there's always a gleam of hope even at the darkest times of color lives. It is a day that we should celebrate with the golden colors of our tradition. The hope of living another year of freedom.
