A serious road accident occurred in Hulhumale' Phase 2 late last night when a motorcycle carrying three people collided with another motorbike while attempting to evade police.

Police reported that five individuals sustained various degrees of injury and are currently receiving medical treatment. According to authorities, three of the victims were treated at Hulhumale' Hospital before being transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for further care.

IGMH informed the press that of the three patients brought to the facility, two are receiving emergency care, while the third is undergoing treatment in the operating theatre.

Police added that efforts are underway to transfer the remaining two victims to IGMH for further treatment. However, officials have not yet confirmed whether any of the five individuals are in critical condition.

The police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
