A young woman injured in a collision between two motorcycles on Sosun Magu in Malé on the night of September 21 has passed away.
Maldives Immigration, where the 26-year-old victim was employed, expressed their condolences and shared a tribute on social media following her passing.
In addition to the deceased, two men were injured in the accident. Both received hospital treatment, and police have since taken one of them into custody.
The individual arrested in connection with the case is a 21-year-old man. Upon being produced in court for a remand hearing, he was ordered to be detained for 15 days.
Footage of the accident circulated on social media, showing a lot of blood at the scene of the collision.
