An individual has been arrested in connection with a collision between two motorcycles on Sosun Magu in Malé on the night of September 21.
Police confirmed that the suspect is a 21-year-old male who was operating a motorcycle without a valid driving license. Upon being produced before the court, he was remanded in custody for 15 days.
Three individuals, including the 21-year-old suspect, sustained injuries in the accident and received hospital treatment. Reports indicate that one of the victims, a woman, remains in serious condition.
According to police statistics, a total of 2,222 accidents have been reported so far this year, with 172 incidents recorded within this month alone.
