The government-sponsored Maldives 2.0 Digital Transformation Bill and the Digital Identity Bill was accepted to the People’s Majlis today.
The Maldives 2.0 Digital Transformation Bill was introduced on behalf of the government by Gadhdhoo MP Mohamed Ali. The Digital Identity Bill was presented by Alifushi MP Abdulla Latheef Abdul Rahman.
The parliamentary agenda also included debates on the Cyber Security Bill, introduced by Henveiru Central MP Hussain Nasih, and the Personal Data Protection Bill, submitted by Henveiru West MP Ali Ibrahim.
Today’s sitting, the second session of the current term, is scheduled began at 10:00 am. The proceedings commenced with the swearing-in of Abdulla Sodiq (Sobe), the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) MP who recently won the Hithadhoo North by-election.
