A man in police custody has tried to escape after being taken to the hospital for a doctor's appointment.
A source told Adhadhu that the man from Alif Alif Himandhoo tried to escape from police custody in Rasdhoo. He was arrested on a drug charge.
When asked about the incident, the police media team said a detainee at the Rasdhoo police station tried to escape on Monday night.
He was taken to the hospital and placed under observation when he entered the hospital's toilet and tried to jump out of a window.
A police officer who was there at the time detained him.
Police did not confirm the charges against him. Police also did not reveal the man's name, detention period or any injuries sustained during the attempted escape.
