A police investigation officer (IO) has been accused of influencing the investigation into the sexual abuse of a minor by two members of her family.
A member of the 17-year-old girl's family shared concern about the case on social media and said the IO had close ties to the people involved in the case.
"My sister is friends with the IO. My sister's husband is also close friends with the IO. They go to cafes together. Can we say this is a fair investigation?"
He added that the case was reported in January, but he had not been summoned for a statement. Only the victim's statement had been recorded so far.
He further highlighted that the IO has not provided any information about the progress made in the case for more than two months.
He said the two family members accused of sexual assault are in responsible jobs and no action has been taken against them.
Police said the case was reported on January 20, 2025. No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
