The ruling People's National Congress (PNC) parliamentary group has been instructed not to summon cabinet ministers or heads of government companies to the People's Majlis without President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's permission.
Multiple sources told Adhadhu that the instruction was issued to ruling party MPs on behalf of Muizzu by parliamentary group leader Ibrahim Falah during a meeting of MPs last week. Some PNC MPs confirmed this to Adhadhu.
"We were instructed not to summon any ministers or MDs of any companies without the President's permission," one MP said.
Earlier on January 30, MPs were told not to meet ministers without the President's permission. MPs now need an appointment through the President's Office to meet ministers.
