Five people have been arrested in connection with an assault on Thaa Thimarafushi island on Saturday.
One person was treated for injuries at Thimarafushi health center after being attacked inside a house on the island.
The five suspects arrested with court warrants are;
- Ahmed Ameen, 36
- Ahmed Shaheed, 38
- Mohamed Rauf, 54
- Abdulla Ashraf, 39
- Aas Ibrahim, 32
Thimarafushi council President Ismail Ibrahim told Adhadhu that the victim had sustained only minor injuries.
"This is a very small incident. The victim has very minor injuries," he said.
While the motive behind the assault is not clear, police said they are carrying out further investigations.
