Two patients among the Addu police college cadets hospitalised with food poisoning last night are undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit.
A total 32 students were taken for treatment at the Addu Equatorial Hospital due to food poisoning, Assistant Police Commissioner Ahmed Shifan said.
"All except for two students have been released. Those two students are at the ICU," said Shifan, the police spokesperson.
Of the five cadets who required treatment at the ICU last night, one remains in serious condition, police said.
But police have not revealed any further details or what caused the food poisoning.
The food poisoning is expected to have been caused by eating fish, a source with knowledge about the matter told Adhadhu today.
According to Addu Equatorial Hospital CEO Dr. Ibrahim Yasir, all 32 students who were brought to the hospital last night faced difficulty breathing.
