Ex-Health Minister Ameen's father passes away

Former Health Minister Abdulla Ameen's father has passed away while undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in an accident that occurred on Friday night.

Ahmed Manik, 74, died while undergoing treatment at IGMH's ICU in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He is survived by his wife and four children, including Deputy Ambassador of the Maldives to Japan Mohamed Ameeth, who is also a former MP, as well as a son and daughter.

Ahmed Manik was born in Gaaf Dhaal Gadhdhoo. The accident occurred as his motorcycle collided with a car near the Oxygen cafe' on Boduthakurufaanu Magu.

The funeral is due to take place after Asr prayers in Hulhumale'.
