Two seriously injured after speedboat crash

Two people are receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for injuries sustained in a speedboat accident.

The vessel named "Tour Guard" was travelling from Vilimale' to Gili Lankanfushi at the time of the crash. 

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the two crew members were transported to IGMH with serious injuries.

A media official from IGMH confirmed to Adhadhu that the two victims are currently receiving emergency care. No further details were provided. 

The injured individuals include a 38-year-old Maldivian man and a 30-year-old expatriate.

MNDF noted that the report of the accident was received while the vessel was in close proximity to Vilimale'. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
