The Ministry of Youth and Sports has instructed all sports associations to suspend sporting activities for 20 minutes following the call to prayer.
In a circular issued to all national sports associations, the ministry mandated that activities conducted by clubs, academies, and private individuals at sporting venues must be halted for a 20-minute duration upon the commencement of the call to prayer.
The ministry further directed associations to ensure that all activities under their jurisdiction are paused during prayer times, in alignment with the implementation of government policy.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports is currently drafting a formal regulation to outline the enforcement procedures for this 20-minute suspension of sporting activities during prayer times.
The ministry noted that until this regulation is finalized and shared with all associations, tournaments organized and conducted by the associations themselves will be exempt from the activities specified in the circular.
