Nasreen gets deputy minister post after resigning from PSM

Ibrahim Nasreen, who recently resigned as Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM), has been appointed a Deputy Minister at the Youth Ministry.

Nasreen resigned on Saturday during a PSM board meeting. He was appointed Deputy Minister this week.

Nasreen is the fifth Deputy Minister appointed to the Youth Ministry. Ali Amir, Fathimath Ziyada, Mohamed Aseel and Ibrahim Ali also serve as Deputy Ministers in the ministry.

The number of deputy ministers appointed to government ministries and the President's Office has risen to 143. The Ministry of Cities has the highest number of deputy ministers. There are 16 deputy ministers in the ministry.

Nasreen is the third Managing Director to leave the state broadcaster since President Mohamed Muizzu assumed office in November 2023.

Before him, Zeena Zahir and Mohamed Saeed resigned from their posts. Nasreen was appointed as Managing Director in December 2024.
