A major theft involving MVR four million has been reported from an apartment in Nalahiya Residence, located on Majeedhee Magu in Malé.
The case was reported to the police on March 16. Out of the MVR four million stolen, authorities have so far recovered only MVR 50,000.
Police stated that efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining funds. Five individuals are suspected in connection with the heist, four of whom have already been taken into custody.
The four arrested suspects remain in detention. Police confirmed they are currently searching for the fifth individual involved in the case.
According to the police, a significant portion of the investigation has now been completed. Authorities are currently finalizing the case to be forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) office for criminal charges.
