Male' Maldives: Odi Sports Club coach Andrés García has welcomed a strong beginning to the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2025/26 season but stressed that tougher tests lie ahead, particularly their upcoming clash with Victory SC.
After back-to-back wins that have energized their campaign, García told reporters ahead of tonight’s game that sustaining intensity will be vital as the competition ramps up. He pointed out that while Odi has made a promising start, their opponents are also growing in form, making each match increasingly demanding.
The coach noted how the quality and competitiveness of the league have improved. More teams are showing readiness, both tactically and physically, having closed the gap in pre‑season preparations. According to García, this means that matches are more balanced than ever, and the margin for error is shrinking.
One factor Odi face is the upcoming FIFA break. García emphasized the importance of securing three points in tonight’s game to carry momentum into the break, allowing players to rest and recover. He warned that without maintaining performance levels, the initial gains could be quickly lost.
