Male' Maldives: Odi Sports Club produced a dominant display to defeat Club Valencia 7–1 in the final fixture of Matchday 2 in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2025/26, moving them to the top of the league table on goal difference.

Odi, New Radiant Sports Club, and Maziya Sports & Recreation Club are now the only teams with a 100% winning record after two rounds. Odi lead the standings thanks to their superior goal difference, while Buru Sports Club follow in fourth place with four points.

Victory Sports Club and Club Valencia are level on three points in fifth and sixth, respectively, while Club Eagles sit seventh with a single point. Club Green Streets, United Victory, and TC Sports Club are yet to earn a point, having lost both of their opening matches.

Odi asserted their dominance early, scoring four goals in the opening 30 minutes to take complete control of the match.

Their Lithuanian striker, Karolis Laukžemis, was the star of the evening, netting a well-taken hat-trick. Despite missing a penalty, saved impressively by Valencia’s Moldovan goalkeeper Viorel Boian, Laukžemis continued to torment the opposition defense throughout the match.

Odi’s other goals came from Abdulla Looth Ibrahim (Sane'), Ibrahim Imran (Immi), Ibrahim Waheed Hassan (Ibbe), and Muzdhan Hassan, who was also unlucky to hit the post twice during the game. The team’s relentless attacking performance left Valencia struggling to contain the pressure.

Club Valencia managed a late consolation goal through substitute Abdul Sameeu Hassan, but it did little to change the tone of the match, which had been firmly in Odi’s favor from the outset.

Action resumes in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League with Matchday 3 starting next Tuesday.
