An elderly man in Alif Alif Maalhos has died while undergoing treatment at the health center following serious injuries inflicted while he was sleeping.
The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Abdul Rahman Adam.
Police said the man was taken to the health center last night with serious injuries. He died early in the morning while undergoing treatment.
"Police received a report at 01:50 am that a man was taken to the health center for treatment after sustaining serious injuries while he was sleeping. The man died while receiving treatment early in the morning," police said.
Police said an investigative team was currently travelling to the island.
