A tourist has drowned in Alif Alif Ukulhas island.
Police said the deceased is a 75-year-old man from Uzbekistan. They did not provide details.
The incident was reported to police at 5:20 pm today. However, police did not say how or when the man drowned.
Police said further investigations were underway.
Ukulhas is a popular island for local tourism with a large number of guesthouses.
MDP activist Mohamed Shamin was released from police custody after being detained for allegedly crossing barricades during a protest.
