Maldives Immigration has detained five people for prostitution.
They include four Vietnamese women and one Vietnamese man who worked as their agent.
Three of the women and the man had been living in the Maldives on work visas while one woman has now been deported.
Immigration said the deportation process was underway for the remaining people. They were detained in a joint operation with the police.
