Revival Sports, proudly representing the Maldives on the international stage, has made a remarkable achievement at the Botswana International 2024, winning one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
In a historic moment, Fathimath Nabaha (Naba) defeated her twin sister, Aminath Nabeeha (Naby), in a thrilling women’s singles final to secure the Maldives' first-ever singles gold medal in a BWF-sanctioned tournament.
Meanwhile, Naby’s silver medal in singles marks the first-ever silver medal for the Maldives in this level tournament, a remarkable milestone for both players.
In the mixed doubles, Naba and Zayan Zaki earned a silver medal, narrowly losing to Azerbaijan’s Agil Gabilov and Era Maftuha in the final with scores of 23-11, 21-18. This marks the fifth medal for the pair in BWF-sanctioned tournaments, which includes one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals, with their most recent bronze coming from the Zambia International.
Additionally, Naba and Naby secured a bronze medal in the women’s doubles event, adding to their impressive collection of international medals in this category. This is their 12th international medal in women’s doubles.
Lastly, in the men’s doubles event, Zayan Zaki and Nibal Ahmed won a bronze medal, marking their first-ever medal as a pair in a BWF-sanctioned tournament.
