Bangkok, Thailand (August 31): Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM) President Latheef has been elected as Vice President of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).

Earlier this year, the AVC elected Latheef as a Zonal Vice President.

Meanwhile, outgoing AVC President Rita Subowo was appointed as the AVC Honorary President by acclamation.

Alongside Latheef, the AVC elected Craig Carracher of Australia as Senior Executive Vice President, Hugh Graham of the Cook Islands as Secretary-General, Marina Tsui of Hong Kong as Treasurer, and Hasan Alfransiny of Bahrain as Internal Auditor.
