Maldives Immigration is searching for a foreigner accused of preparing and selling food with cat meat.
The Feline Welfare Organization, which works for the rights of cats, said in a post on social media that the undocumented Bangladeshi man works at the Male' Dried Fish Market.
The organization alleges that he killed cats, prepared food from their meat and sold food parcels.
In an announcement, Immigration issued a five-day notice for 32-year-old Arfat Hossain to appear before authorities. But it did not disclose the reason for his summoning.
Immigration appealed to the public to contact 9199017 or email risk@immigration.gov.mv. to provide information about the man's whereabouts.
