The illegal sale of a copy of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software created at a huge expense by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has emerged.
ERP softwares are developed and used to oversee company records, procurement, HR and accounting.
A copy of the HDC software was sold under a different name by a company set up by former and current HDC staff, according to sources who spoke to Adhadhu.
A complaint was also made to HDC’s HR department alleging the sale of the expensive software created by developers enlisted by HDC’s previous management. A senior HDC official confirmed this to Adhadhu. However, the case remains stalled.
A serious investigation of the case has not been conducted yet, an HDC employee told Adhadhu.
“This is absolutely a major theft. There’s a case with evidence at the HR department. But I’ve been informed that they have not done anything,” the employee said.
The sale of HDC’s ERP software emerged after an attempt was made to hack the corporation’s database and access personal information. After the hacking attempt, police advised the public to be cautious.
