Two men have been held in a birdcage for allegedly not paying their bill after eating at a restaurant.
A video of the two shirtless men inside a large bird cage at the Artificial beach area in Male' circulated on social media yesterday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police and Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan told Adhadhu that an investigation was underway.
Shifan confirmed that the video shows the Artificial beach area and said they were kidnapped for allegedly refusing to pay their bills at a restaurant.
However, police did not give any further details or say whether anyone had been arrested in connection to the case.
