Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid has met with the newly appointed Honorary Consul of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank Ragheb Ahmed Khalaf.
Shahid handed over the credentials to the Honorary Consul at a meeting held at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
The two discussed further strengthening the continuous strong relations between Maldives and Palestine.
Shahid assured the Palestinian Consul that the Maldives Government and people will always stand with the Palestinian people and state.
The appointment of a new consul comes at a time when Israel is bombarding the Palestinians living in Gaza.
