A woman who knifed a foreign shopkeeper behind the counter at a shop in Male' has been remanded in custody for 15 days.
The 29-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday. The Criminal Court granted a 15-day remand when she was taken to court for extension of detention, the police said on Sunday.
Video footage of the incident circulating on social media shows the woman slashing the man's neck with a knife. The incident took place inside a shop in Male'.
The expatriate seen in the video was treated at the ADK hospital and released later on Saturday.
