Investigations do not show that Road Development Corporation (RDC) money was deposited into the bank accounts of its Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik 'Mookey' and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Yasir Hassan, police have stated.
Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Yoonus Sobah told Adhadhu that investigations found company money deposited into a manager's account and that money was transferred to several different accounts.
He said efforts were underway to determine the reason behind the deposit and transfer of RDC money.
"We do not have suspicions over any individual yet," he said, declining to comment further as the investigation was still ongoing.
RDC earlier denied corruption allegations reported in the media accusing Mookey and Yasir of taking more than MVR 13 million from the company's Bank of Maldives (BML) account for personal use.
No such transaction has been made from the company's bank account, the company said in a statement.
RDC said neither the police nor the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has informed the company about an investigation related to the company's finances.
RDC is regularly audited and no monetary transaction or problem in violation of the company's financial policy has been noted, the company said.
