Scholarships have been awarded to successful applicants for professional accountancy training offered by the government.
The ceremony was held at 3 pm on Wednesday at the Maldives National University's central auditorium.
There were 322 applications for the scholarships announced this year to train 200 professional accountants at the government's expense. Scholarships were awarded to 210 applicants.
The scholarship offers training at the skills and professional level from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and at the management and strategic level from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), according to the higher education ministry.
The aim of the program is to train Maldivians as accountants to enter the job market as soon as possible, the government said.
