The Maldivian pilgrims who performed hajj in Saudi Arabia this year began returning home on Friday.
The Islamic Ministry said the first and second groups of pilgrims arrived in the country at 8:00 am on Friday.
The pilgrims that arrived on Friday morning travelled with the Hajj Corporation and Al Manasik Private Limited.
Maldivian Hajj pilgrims travelled to Saudi Arabia on June 12. A total of 1000 Maldivians performed hajj this year.
Some 1.8 million people from around the world went on the pilgrimage. About 300 people died, including four Maldivians.
Most of the deaths were elderly. Saudi officials said the pilgrims were hit hard by the unusually hot weather.
