Thirty-two people from eight households were provided with temporary shelter and food for one day due to flooding in Male'.

The Maldives National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that these individuals were offered assistance because they were unable to cook, eat, or sleep in their homes due to the flooding.

“A rapid assessment of 12 households in need of immediate assistance was conducted with support from the Maldivian Red Crescent,” the NDMA reported.

In response to the flooding, 229 sandbags were deployed at 47 locations, including houses, shops, and warehouses, with assistance from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and the Male' City Council.

The NDMA, MNDF, Police, and Maldives Red Crescent hotlines collectively received 101 calls related to the flooding.

According to the Maldives Meteorological Service, Male' experienced 136.5 mm of rainfall between 08:00 am yesterday and 08:00 am today, the highest recorded rainfall in the Maldives in the past 24 hours.
