Fourteen tourists have been rescued after a speedboat traveling to Kaafu Dhiffushi began taking on water and eventually sank.
According to the police, the vessel was carrying 14 Chinese tourists at the time of the incident, including four children.
While no injuries were reported, all passengers have been safely transported to Dhiffushi. However, the speedboat they were traveling on has completely submerged.
Videos circulating on social media show the Chinese tourists being evacuated onto a vessel as the speedboat began to sink. It went underwater shortly after the passengers were moved to safety.
Police stated that they are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Meanwhile, search efforts continue for three individuals missing since a supply boat sank last Wednesday night. The missing persons include the boat's captain, along with a police officer and a military officer who had responded to the distress call.
