Schools across the country closed for the first term holidays today, with students set to remain on break until August 1.
Schools held sessions today to distribute report cards detailing students' academic performance throughout the first term.
The second term is scheduled to begin on August 2 and will conclude on December 17.
Following the end of the academic year's second term, students will begin their annual break from December 18 to January 12, 2027.
The current academic year commenced on January 27, with schools closing on March 8 before reopening on March 28. The first term also included a mid-term break from May 24 to May 30.
This academic year began across 219 schools with an enrollment of over 77,000 students and a teaching staff exceeding 9,000.
More than 4,000 students enrolled in Grade 1 at government schools this year, including over 1,700 students within the Male' area alone.
Furthermore, over 1,500 students transferred from the atolls to schools in the capital Male', with the majority—exceeding 800 students—relocating to schools in Hulhumale'.
