Education Minister Ismail Shafeeu has said that the slow progress of education-related projects across the country is due to ongoing efforts to ensure the quality of the work.

Responding to a query from a lawmaker at the People’s Majlis today, Shafeeu noted that there are currently over 160 education sector projects underway nationwide.

"The President’s instruction is to ensure that when public funds are utilized, the resulting work meets the necessary quality and standards. Taking the time to guarantee this has led to some delays," Shafeeu said.

However, the minister acknowledged that the ministry needs to work more expeditiously in managing these processes.

During today's parliamentary session, MPss representing various constituencies questioned the minister regarding the stalled or unfinished projects in their respective regions.

In response, Shafeeu stated that he welcomed their concerns, noting that their questions reflect the government's commitment to advancing educational infrastructure.
