Saudi Arabia’s flynas resumes flights to Maldives

Saudi Arabia’s budget carrier, flynas, resumed its scheduled flights to the Maldives yesterday.

According to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), flynas will operate three weekly flights between King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Velana International Airport.

The inaugural flight of the resumed service was welcomed at Velana International Airport with a water salute. Passengers were also greeted with a warm reception featuring traditional Maldivian performances.

MACL said that the resumption of flynas flights will provide convenience for tourists travelling to the Maldives from the Middle Eastern market.

As Saudi Arabia plays a vital role in the Maldivian tourism industry, these flights are expected to further boost demand for the Maldives within the region.

MACL continues to undertake strategic efforts to increase the number of airlines operating to Velana International Airport.
