Ibrahim Ziyath has resigned from his position as the Deputy CEO of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).

It is understood that Ziyath tendered his resignation about a month ago. His departure follows shortly after he was removed from the MPL Board of Directors on May 1.

Ziyath’s removal from the board was to facilitate the appointment of Mohamed Lamman. Lamman was appointed to the MPL board following his resignation from the post of Deputy Managing Director at Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

Lamman’s resignation from MACL came amid several allegations of corruption. However, he denied these allegations.

Lamman, who previously served as the Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, has also held the positions of Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Procurement Officer at MIFCO. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colombo.
