Dr. Mohamed Mahid Shareef has been appointed at the ministerial level to lead the Citizens' Complaints Bureau, a newly established office under the current administration.
Operating under the President's Office, Mahid was appointed to the post of Principal Secretary to the President on Citizens' Complaints on May 18.
Mahid has previously served as a Permanent Secretary in various government ministries and as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
Before his appointment at the Complaints Bureau, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives).
The Citizens' Complaints Bureau was established to manage and respond to grievances submitted by the public through various platforms.
A 24-hour call center will be established to facilitate the submission of complaints to the bureau.
There are currently 12 officials at the ministerial level serving within the President's Office. This marks the highest number of such appointments in any administration since the ratification of the 2008 Constitution.
