The Criminal Court has decided to investigate Adhadhu journalist Leevan Ali Nasir over a news article about the court's order prohibiting discussion of the "Aisha" documentary.
According to the summons, Leevan must present himself to the court at 11:00 am tomorrow. The article was published under the headline, "Court issues gag order prohibiting discussion on 'Aisha' documentary."
The gag order issued by the Criminal Court prohibits the circulation of the documentary within the community and forbids any party from discussing the contents of the video, either directly or indirectly. Furthermore, the order bans any discussion over the allegations made in the documentary.
Citing compliance with the court order, Adhadhu journalist Mohamed Shahzan was today removed from a press conference held at the President's Office.
Adhadhu CEO Hussein Fiyaz and Editor Hassan Mohamed are facing charges of Qazf (an Islamic criminal charge over false accusations of adultery or fornication) in connection with the documentary.
