Mohamed Lamman, who recently resigned as the Deputy Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), has been appointed as an Executive Member of the Board of Directors at Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), replacing Ibrahim Ziyath.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) confirmed that Lamman’s appointment to the MPL Board of Directors is effective as of yesterday.
While Lamman takes over the board seat previously held by Ziyath, the latter remains in his role as the Deputy CEO of MPL. Any decision regarding his removal from that administrative position rests with the MPL Board of Directors.
Lamman’s resignation from MACL came amid several allegations of corruption. However, he categorically denied these accusations yesterday.
In addition to his previous role as Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, Lamman has served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Procurement Officer at MIFCO. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colombo.
