A Maldivian man has called for the killing of US President Donald Trump's envoy Sergio Gor, who is currently visiting the Maldives.
Gor, who also serves as an adviser to Trump, is the US Special Envoy to South and Central Asia. He is one of the most influential officials in the US government.
A Facebook account named Hussain Ahsan posted that "everyone should come out and stone him to death."
The threat was posted on the day the US government announced Gor's scheduled visit to the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Police did not comment on whether they were investigating the threat.
