A Nepalese man has been arrested for alleged extortion in selling a wardrobe through Facebook Marketplace.
Police said they arrested 23-year-old Nakul KC from Nepal. He was arrested on February 7 under a court order.
He was remanded in custody for 12 days when summoned to court. Police said they were investigating more complaints related to the suspect.
Recently, there has been a surge in cases of fraud and extortion through various social media platforms.
