Maldive Gas has controlled the sale of gas cylinders due to low stock.

Adhadhu understands that the changes came into effect on Thursday (February 5).

Due to the difficulties in importing gas to the State Trading Organization (STO), Villa Hakatha has been supplying gas for Maldive Gas since late January.

A source told Adhadhu that 7 kg of gas is now provided to 10 kg cylinders in order to control the sale. Larger cylinders are sold with 50 percent less gas.

An STO official told Adhadhu that there is no problem with gas supply and gas sale is being managed to ensure sufficient supply.
