The rights of the people are ensured when there is a Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) government, former Vice President Faisal Naseem has said.
Speaking during an event in Fuvahmulah city, Faisal said the people's rights are guaranteed and safeguarded during the MDP governments.
"When there is an MDP government, the rights of the people are ensured. The development of the island is not delayed. The people do not have to run after the government or beg," Faisal said.
He added that the MDP government had carried out numerous projects in Fuvahmulah, including the largest shore protection project in the country.
Faisal criticised the current government of the People's National Congress (PNC) for failing to carry out any projects in Fuvahmulah three years after coming to power.
