Male' Maldives: Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League leaders Maziya Sports & Recreation left it late but showed their resilience as the Green Boys came from behind to defeat Club Green Streets 2–1, opening the second round of the league with another victory and extending their winning run to ten matches.
Maziya now sit comfortably at the top of the standings with 30 points from 10 matches. Odi Sports Club remain second on 25 points, followed by New Radiant Sports Club in third with 20 points. Buru Sports Club occupy fourth place on 17 points, while Club Eagles and Victory Sports Club are level on 13 points in fifth and sixth positions. United Victory sit seventh, tied on seven points with eighth-placed Club Valencia. TC Sports Club are ninth with five points, alongside bottom-placed Club Green Streets, who also have five points after ten matches.
Elsewhere, Odi Sports Club began their second-round campaign in emphatic fashion, recording a dominant 3–0 win over TC Sports Club.
New Radiant Sports Club returned to winning ways as Mohamed Fasir (Faatte) marked his comeback to top-flight football after 15 years by scoring in a 3–1 victory against Club Valencia, ending New Radiant’s three-match winless streak.
Buru Sports Club produced a remarkable performance, thrashing United Victory 9–0 to register their biggest-ever win in Maldivian top-flight football. The result also matched Maziya S&R’s record for the largest victory margin in the current Dhivehi Premier League season, previously achieved against Club Green Streets.
Meanwhile, Victory Sports Club enjoyed a strong start to Round Two with a 2–0 win over Club Eagles. The defeat marked the first loss under Eagles coach Abdulla Haneef (Benjo), ending his seven-match unbeaten run, which had included three wins and three draws.
