Male’, Maldives: Defending champions Maziya Sports and Recreation Club have made a flawless start to the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2025/26 season, winning all six of their matches to sit comfortably at the top of the standings.
The reigning champions, who also lifted the FAM League Cup and the Charity Shield, delivered another dominant performance in their most recent outing, defeating Club Valencia 5–0. With that emphatic victory, Maziya now boast 18 points from six matches, maintaining a two-point lead at the summit of the table.
Close behind are Odi Sports Club and New Radiant Sports Club, both of whom remain unbeaten this season with 16 points from six games. Odi hold second place on goal difference after a commanding 4–0 win against a struggling Club Green Streets side. Meanwhile, New Radiant were made to work harder for their three points, edging Buru Sports Club 2–1 in a tightly contested match.
Victory Sports Club appear to be finding their rhythm under new Slovakian coach Gergely Geri. After losing his first match in charge to New Radiant, Geri guided his side to consecutive 1–0 wins over TC Sports Club and United Victory, the first time Victory have won back-to-back league matches this season. They now sit fourth with nine points from six games, just ahead of Buru Sports Club, who are fifth with seven points.
Further down the table, Club Eagles finally claimed their first win of the season, defeating TC Sports Club 2–0. Including Charity Shield match, Eagles have played seven games this season.
Under new head coach Abdulla Haneef (Benjo), Eagles have shown signs of revival and now occupy sixth place with six points. Won one game and drawn two against Odi and New Radiant.
At the lower end, United Victory and Club Valencia share four points each in seventh and eighth place respectively, while TC Sports Club and Club Green Streets sit at the bottom with three points apiece after six matches.
With the season still in its early stages, Maziya continue to set the benchmark with their dominant form, but with Odi and New Radiant close behind, the title race promises to be one of the most competitive in recent years.
