Six people who were arrested from the October 3 rally has been released from police custody.
They were released on condition that they cooperate with the investigation. Their legal team said police had already taken their statements.
Police arrested eight people from the protest. However, only six of them were remanded in custody for 15 days.
They were remand on October 4 and were summoned to the Criminal Court today to extend the remand.
Police requested to extend their detention by 15 more days, but the judge decided to release them.

- Maafushi Council President Hassan Solah

- Azmee Ali
- Hassan Shakir
Addu City Councillor Hassan Zareer and Mohamed Khalif were also arrested from the rally. But Zareer was released without a remand hearing while Khalif was released on condition that he cooperate with the investigation.
Thousands of people flooded the Artificial Beach in Male' on October 3 and tried to peacefully march along Majeedhee Magu. But riot police used pepper spray and sonic weapons against the demonstrators.
The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is preparing for another rally announced for November 17.
